Tara Michel & Poetica

Tara Michel

Born in Scranton PA, daughter of Andrea and Bill Arnold, two musicians, from a family tree of musicians going back all the way to the civil war; she was saturated with music from the womb.  Her first public performance was in church at the age of four, directed by her grandmother Edna Mitchell a renowned gospel and opera singer, who classically trained Tara. She charmed the audience with her talent and spunk, and it seemed she was indeed destined for the stage, where now she says she is most comfortable.

Tara relocated to Newark, NJ at the age of five, when Hip Hop began to flourish and take root in the hearts of the youth, and Tara was no exception.  Her musical influences included Barbara Streisand, Nancy Wilson, Patti Labelle, Donnie Hathaway, Whitney Houston, Lou Rawls, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Lisa Fischer, and Phyllis Hyman.  She began her professional career at fifteen, recording with producer Guy Vaughn.    Then, started singing in Scranton PA as a professional lead singer with Paul Labelle in bands Exact Change and All that Jazz, as well as performing with Marko Marcinko, Dough Smith, Jimmy Waltich and Jim Cullen.

Tara has written and recorded hundreds of songs, including her debut album Sister of the Same with producer Corrine Preno. Her genuine passion for creating and performing music, coupled with her sincerity and humility, makes her a truly inspiring artist.

Love is My Religion ❤️‍🔥 Music is My Ministry

Philly’s Minist-Her Of Music: Poetica Bey “She Jay” Auntie Pop

The Minister of Music 10 am sharp in Philadelphia on FM Radio WJYN 98.5Fm can be heard echoing “The Poetica Bey Show” SheJay Saying ” Love is My Religion” and Music is My Ministry” and Donny Hathaway, The Boys Choir of Harlem, Norman Connors and Old Dirty Bastard of the WU Agree Too.

The unpredictable format of Foundational Musical Geniuses, whose work is peppered throughout the broadcast, brings to mind love bubbles.

She may spin a theme of duets and bet on it spiraling into angelic sounds of pleasing positivity to the point of being Maya Angelou’s speeches. This spoken word specialist has a special relationship with the radio.
