Roots Revival Roadshow
Roots Revival Roadshow is a dynamic traveling collective of musicians dedicated to celebrating the rich tapestry of African American music. With a sound rooted in blues, folk, rock, and soul, they breathe new life into classic songs while showcasing powerful original compositions in a writer’s round format. Their performances are a vibrant journey through time, bridging the past and present with heartfelt storytelling, infectious rhythms, and soulful melodies. Whether on stage or on the road, the Roots Revival Roadshow keeps the spirit of tradition alive while creating a sound all their own.
Antar Goodwin
Antar Goodwin, a Philadelphia-based roots and blues artist, blends the grit of classic blues with the soul of Americana in his music. Before gaining recognition with his band, Antar Goodwin & The Faithful Sinners, he spent 15 years as a bassist in New York City’s vibrant music scene. During this time, he served as a musical director and co-writer for several national touring artists, including Sting, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Bruce Katz, Sean Chambers, Ruth Brown, Benny Golson, and co-wrote the album “On My Way,” which reached the Billboard top 10 twice. His raw honesty and emotional depth create a powerful invitation for listeners. With a deep well of storytelling and masterful guitar work, Antar takes audiences on a journey of truth and transformation through his timeless sound.
Antar and his band recently concluded the second leg of their UK tour in support of their 2024 album, “The Game,” recorded and produced by Ben Rice at Degraw Sound, known for his collaborations with Joan Osborne, Valerie June, and Norah Jones. Upon their return, Antar signed with Bigger Beast Records, an artist-centric record label based in Connecticut. Building on the momentum of “The Game,” Antar is eagerly anticipating the release of his new single in the second half of 2025.
Amelia Ray
Amelia Ray is The Interpreter: part storyteller, part musician, and possible spy who has performed in 25 countries and speaks seven languages. Amelia’s unique perspective and songwriting ability inspires Cultural Cohesion – a celebration of our diversity and common understanding of our shared experience through music.
Cracking the code of what it means to be human, Ray has written compositions like “Ana no potable” – a song in Spanish in the voice of a disgruntled constituent to a lousy mayor –, “Dream” – a tribute to musicals dedicated to anyone who’s ever pursued their passions – and “Hambone Says” – a performance piece that uses a contemporary past aesthetic to explore U.S. racial and music history, and which won the Global Film Exhibition 2024 Best Music Video award. Her newest single, “Pretending to Read,” sees our protagonist covertly people-watching on the subway while using a book as a clever disguise for her true intentions.
The San Francisco Bay Area native organised and hosted The Quarantuned Music Festival – a series of virtual music festivals benefitting artists affected by Covid-19 concert cancellations in 2020 – and founded Europe for Ukraine, an initiative to produce an original, multilingual composition in support of the Ukrainian people. Ray also leads financial confidence panels and songwriting workshops online and at conferences worldwide.
