Eric Andersen
Spend an evening with Eric Andersen to promote his new album Dance of Love and Death – 17 new songs – the first studio album of new Eric Andersen songs since 2003! He will perform songs from the new album as well as others spanning his career. Eric Andersen first came to prominence as a performer in Greenwich Village in the early 1960s and immediately became part of the Village folk and songwriter scene and was at the epicenter of the
American Greenwich Village singer-songwriter explosion. Aside from his own classics, he’s co-written songs with Lou Reed, Townes Van Zandt, Rick Danko, and Bob Weir (Grateful Dead). And his songs have been covered by many artists including Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Fairport Convention and Peter, Paul & Mary.
He is featured in an Andy Warhol film (Space) and in many music documentaries. A full-length documentary about Eric Andersen The Songpoet (released 2019) is available for streaming on PBS. He has broken the boundaries of songwriting with a 26 minute recitative and incorporating literary influences and works in his writing. He is currently working on a memoir.
Eric has toured the world and released over 30 CDs of original music. In 2022 a 3 CD tribute album was released with artists (including Bob Dylan, Janis Ian, Richard Shindell, Linda Ronstadt, Happy Traum, Dom Flemons and many others) interpreting and covering Eric’s songs. Eric’s new album Dance of Love and Death (featuring Lenny Kaye, Larry Campbell and others) released in 2025 as a digital album, 2 CD set and a double LP will be celebrated at this show.
Eric Andersen in (Spoken) Pieces is a compilation of Eric’s spoken/recitative works. It was released as a
digital album on November 29, 2024. The live album: Blue River Live in Tokyo from a 2012 performance in Japan commemorating the 40th anniversary of Eric’s Blue River album was released in 2025 as a digital album and CD. Eric Andersen’s poetical songs have entertained and captivated audiences worldwide.
Steve Addabo
Steve Addabbo is known as a Grammy winning producer, musician, writer, recording engineer and owner of Shelter Island Sound Recording studio in NYC. He helped launch the careers of Suzanne Vega and Shawn Colvin, along with many others. Steve got his start as a musician and studio technician, but continued on to managing, producing, engineering, and mixing.
Born in the Bronx and raised on Long Island, the first record Steve Addabbo bought was Del Shannon’s “Runaway.” Addabbo started playing guitar in ninth grade, copying songs by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Monkees, among others. At the same time, he harbored a love of electronics and gadgets, building hi-fi amplifiers and receivers from kits he bought at Lafayette stores and the back pages of Popular Electronics, and recording himself on 2-track machines.
Out Of Nothing, is the first solo album of Steve’s long and storied career. Out Of Nothing benefits from guest appearances by a stellar round of friends that Addabbo has made along the way. Folk hero Eric Andersen (and his violinist Michele Gazich) and young folk/Americana boomers Anthony da Costa and Caitlin Canty, master jazz bassist John Patitucci, fellow journeyman Larry Campbell and his bassist Byron Isaacs, alt-country dark horse Ana Egge, and respected New York session drummer Steve Holly (ex-Paul McCartney & Wings) are just a few who are along for the ride.
Kenn Kweder
Philadelphia singer-songwriter Kenn Kweder has been a legendary figure on the city’s music scene since the early 1970s, earning the nickname “The Bard of South Street.” Known for his unpredictable style, raw energy, and fiercely independent spirit, Kweder has blended folk-rock, new wave, and rock & roll with influences ranging from Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen to David Bowie and Captain Beefheart. Though major labels like Arista showed serious interest—Clive Davis among them—Kweder consistently turned down deals that compromised his creative control, opting instead to record independently through his label, Pandemonium Music. This defiant independence, along with his genre-hopping musical identity, may explain why he never achieved national fame despite being a beloved local icon.
Kweder’s career is marked by wild stage antics, provocative self-promotion, and a rotating cast of bands including the Secret Kidds, Radio Church of God, and the Men From P.O.V.I.C.H. He opened for major acts like Cheap Trick, Patti Smith, and the Ramones, and was widely expected to become “the next big thing” in the late ’70s. Instead, he built a rich, underground catalog of releases such as Kitchen Folk, Man Overboard, and the Kwederology retrospective series. While his refusal to conform may have limited his commercial reach, it solidified his status as a cult hero in Philadelphia—one who has inspired generations of artists and remains a vital presence in the city’s music scene.
