The International Brawl for Art enters its 2nd decade with the August 2nd show at the Amazing Fallser Club, that gem on Midvale. The IBFA started as a couple of drunk art school kids with
spray paint under a bridge but has since thrown away its cans and now kicks out the jams. Reporting again for duty are the three stalwarts EDO, Cobra Fantastic (All the way from France!), and
Thomas Anonymous.

EDO

Forty years on, EDO continues the struggle against structure. Unleashing ill-controlled musical chaos all over the upturned collective face of the audience, we will rock your world and fumble with your
emotions.

Formed either in Albany NY in the summer of 1988 or Annapolis, MD in the spring of 1987 (accounts vary), EDO has racked up a reasonably bizarre resume:House band at Albany’s Legendary Palais Royale, Sponsored by Bud Dry in 1991 – 1994, live on PRISM in 1997, house band at Deleo’s, the legendary and now defunct RoxYunk dive bar, Favorites at the late lamented Grape, emeritus act at
the final cataclysmic Pi Lam Human BBQ.

EDO is as likely to iron meat on stage as they are to sing you sweet and sleepy all the way back home. They will rock your world and fumble with your emotions! They will feed you medicine for
breakfast!

For what it’s worth, these guys have been playing together for almost forty years, a combined band total of 210 EDO years! We just can’t stop!
Come see EDO and smell the weirdness. You won’t be sorry you did. We won’t either. See for yourself!

Cobra Fantastic

These dudes schlepped all the way over here from France, and that’s all you need to know. The band of intrepid funkateers known as Cobra Fantastic is a veritable supergroup of the Parisian
jazz scene, under the fearless leadership of guitarist/singer/songwriter/arranger David Garlitz.

Travelling the galaxy in a mothership fueled by the music of Frank Zappa, Sun Ra, Steely Dan, and Parliament Funkadelic, Cobra Fantastic offers us a trip outside of the same old linear space-time,
where everything is on The One, but The One ain’t where you thought it was gonna be…

Half comic book, half Space Opera, Cobra Fantastic's first full-length album, Edifice Wrecks follows a warrior priestess, her rogue soldier and former lover, a 40-story monster robot, a dental-floss farmer, the galaxy’s fastest starfighter, and a guitar with a mind of its own as they struggle to maintain the balance of the Funkabopulation in the universe. It’s Heart of Darkness meets Mars Attacks, spoken in the language of jazz and funk, and carried along by the baddest grooves this side of Zargon VII.

When his travels bring him to Philadelphia, Garlitz teams up with long-time co-conspirators Lucas Brown (organ) on organ and Doug Hirlinger (drums) to bring the funkabopulation to the people. Don’t
forget your sunglasses.

Thomas Anonymous

You could say Thomas Anonymous is like The Patridge Family gone horribly wrong. Though blood related, they bring their very different musical styles together into a unique mix.
Individually, John (Papanonymous) on guitar & vocals has performed in variety of rock and instrumental bands since the 90’s and writes the songs that should not be written. Jack on drums,
just finishing recording a new album with the wonderful GPS (Gabe Preston Sounds), is an accomplished jazz player who always brings a fiery percussive intensity when performing. Joe on
bass and guitar, is about to embark on his 4th tour with Gibby Haynes of Butthole Surfers, this time to Europe, will rock your socks off and funk with your mind.

While Thomas Anonymous has performed in biggish band setting with horn section, the Fallser performance will be as a power trio (with the possibility of special guests).
