Color Them Father with Karen Smith and Friends
There is a need for more mentoring and conversations from all walks of Life, and the Arts have a way of bringing many together. Through stories, poetry, songs, tributes, movement, crafts, live music, I wanted to hold space for various perspectives of what parenting means as well as how it compares to then and now. This Artistic Love Fest welcomes all communities and promises something enjoyable as well as memorable !!
Color Them Father has something for everyone with Tai Chi Master Chik Mason kicking things off, storytelling by Nashid Ali of Keepers of the Culture, Poetry session featuring Marshall “The Dream Poet” Deerfield, The Authentic, Eric Marsh and Demetrius Ford and more. Also to close out the afternoon, a special salute to some of public radio finest with the Color Them Father Ensemble featuring Bert Harris on Bass, Brandon Turner on Keys, Walter Gershon on Sax/Percussion and Clay Carothers on Drums along with Vocalist Warren Cooper, Elijah Pringle, Anthony Cooper and hosted by Wrti’s J. Michael Harrison.
