With roots in Canada and across the United States, Chana Rothman’s music spans languages, folk-pop sensibility, and conscious lyrics aimed to uplift and unite. After traveling around the globe and touring in such far-flung locations as South Africa, Germany, and Israel, Chana settled in Philadelphia and is an established singer/songwriter, community musician, and music educator. Her album “Rainbow Train” received Philadelphia-based grants and was praised by Kathy O’Connell of XPN, saying it “delivers its message of freedom brilliantly.” She has performed at such venerated venues as World Cafe Live, Rockwood Music Hall, and City Winery. After running a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign, inspired by her beloved longtime Philly neighborhood of Mount Airy, she recorded her fourth album at Turtle Studios with Ross Bellenoit as producer. The album, Mother of Creation, is a much-needed, vibrant new collection of folk-rock songs for spiritual resilience and wellness.
