Peace Fortress

Peace Fortress is the latest project by Philadelphia bassist/producer/engineer Brendan McGeehan. It features a four-piece band mixing  the realms of surf rock, soul, and psychedelic stylings into an instrumental groovy soup for you to enjoy. The debut album from Peace Fortress, “New Moon,” will be officially released on July 18th at The Fallser.

Brendan has been playing in bands throughout Philadelphia for the last 15+ years. Current projects include Americana group The Right Fiction and the soul project Ron & the Hip Tones. He’s also a frequent sideman for Minas (Brazilian jazz) and singer/songwriter Matt Santry. For this show, he’ll be joined by Adrian Harpham on drums (Raphael Saadiq, Leo Nocentelli), Freddie Berman on percussion (Amos Lee), Logan Roth on keyboards (Lauryn Hill, Trap Rabbit), and Will Brown on guitar (XIXIX). “Seagulls,” the debut single off the Peace Fortress album, features Eric Bazilian on guitar (The Hooters, Joan Osborne).

Slowey & the Boats

Set sail with Slowey and The Boats! The Philadelphia-based quintet has been bringing their breezy and evocative sound to audiences since the group came together behind steel guitarist Isaac Stanford in early 2012. Specializing in obscure and overlooked melodies from far and wide, the group can transition seamlessly from a traditional Hawaiian melody to an Argentinian tango followed by a classic of the American Song book. The band has a long-running residency at Dawson St Pub in Philadelphia where they host an afternoon barbecue one Sunday a month. The band can also be found regularly in the beer garden at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square during the warmer months. In addition to Stanford on the steel guitar, the quintet is currently comprised of David Streim on the Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes, Mike Hlatky on upright bass, Fred Berman on drums, and Brennen Ernst on guitar.

SMC Quintet

SMC String Quintet, founded by bassist Brent Edmondson to showcase the bass and explore non-classical genres, seamlessly blends jazz, folk, rock, and world influences, pushing the boundaries of string performance with their innovative sound and captivating repertoire.
Brent is the bassist and fixer for The Rock Orchestra, an international touring group of electrified classical instruments. He also manages the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, Philadelphia’s only orchestra dedicated to representing the city’s entire population.
