Amelia Ray
Amelia Ray is The Interpreter – a writer, composer and performer who engages in barrier-breaking storytelling. The San Francisco native has performed across the States and Europe, was selected to appear at the 2024 National Women’s Music Festival, and is an Art Omi: Music 2024 Musician-in-Residence. Her performances bring to life intricate, rhythmic and emotional musical stories full of characters as raw, confused and contradictory as we all are.
Ray’s 31-year career has spanned the fields of music, literature, performance art, film and humanitarianism. As a polyglot, Ray has spent decades contemplating how similar concepts are expressed differently linguistically across cultures. This research has permeated her versatile artistic work, which aims to improve understanding and communication between people from different backgrounds.
Her catalogue includes cross-genre and multilingual compositions like “Ana no potable,” a song in Spanish dedicated to a former mayor of Madrid, “Dream,” a tribute to musicals that sounds like it came straight from a Broadway production, and “Hambone Says” – a performance piece that uses contemporary past aesthetic to explore U.S. racial and music history, and which won the Global Film Exhibition 2024 Best Music Video award.

Julie Webb
Julie Webb is a lifelong singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in the San Francisco Bay Area, and raised both on the cusp of Appalachian Ohio, and in the heart of Portland, Oregon. But the year she spent in San Diego as a child had an equal impact. Trips to Tijuana cultivated Webb’s curiosity and passion for art and music. Webb spent her formative years training with Thara Memory in his renowned American Music Program, where she was permitted only to play Stevie Wonder while in class. Her music today is naturally genre-spanning as she funnels her diverse influences into an Americana mason jar. Working with her partner— third generation Sigma Sound alum, Andrew Owens, Webb independently released her first four studio singles in 2023, and released her latest single “Deep Cuts” in May of 2024. “Deep Cuts” is the first single from Webb’s forthcoming debut studio album, “Psyche Revived.”
Webb’s forthcoming debut album “Psyche Revived” is a collection of new songs that paint a luminous self-portrait and invite the listener into her labyrinthine world of dreams. From psychedelic tapestries of roots rock, to stripped bare shadow-work bleeding from her guitar, Webb harnesses her remarkable artistry to tell the story of her own psyche revived. Poignant and supernatural, her musical prowess is a landscape that transcends dimensionality. With poetry both harrowing and jubilant, her songs are crafted from personal experience, while her clever use of archetypes, mythology, and philosophy riddle her writing with a primordial knowing. Listening to “Psyche Revived” will have you setting sail on your own voyage of the hero.
