The Philadelphia Folksong Society presents
a Night of Singer-Songwriters in the Round
Emmett Drueding
Emmett Drueding is a Philadelphia-based guitarist, singer and songwriter with an admiration for Chet Atkins, Nat King Cole, The Beatles, Elliott Smith, Dave Van Ronk and the many greats of jazz and country blues. Drueding has spent years developing his distinctive guitar-centric sound that draws fluidly on these influences and others. In 2015, Drueding released his first solo EP, titled Strange Bruise to acclaim from WXPN’s The Key and popular U.K blog The Mad Mackerel. In 2017, under the moniker Sons of EL, Drueding released Let’s Hook; a raucous rock album recorded in Whispering Pines studio in Los Angeles. In 2019 he released his first solo full length album in Tightrope Walker, which was recorded at Rittenhouse Soundworks in Philadelphia featuring a multitude of some of Philly’s best players. His self-titled release, Emmett Drueding, was released in June of 2023 featuring songs he wrote and recorded at home as part of an online songwriting group during the pandemic.
On Drueding’s writing and performing style, indie music blog B-Sides and Badlands noted, “He might be playing a character . . . but his conviction is as ripe as grapes on a vine ready for harvest.”

Ami Yares
Ami Yares is the still small voice emerging from the shores of the Mediterranean and Atlantic, bearing his soul to make it sound for you to do the same. Called, “one of Woody’s children” by Peter Yarrow, Ami brings a bit of Richie Havens, Cat Stevens & Robbie Robertson into his universe. With the past at his back and the future calling, Ami is more than just present. Hear/feel/see/experience his songs of relentless perseverance and hope. “Yares wields his 12-string guitar as if it were an entire orchestra, backing his vocals with a dense, rich cascade of sound ” (AXS).

Stephen DiJoseph
Anything can happen when musician, composer and filmmaker Stephen DiJoseph enters a studio or takes the stage. Whether it’s the percussive grooves of his solo guitar and vocals, the quirk and funk of his trademark jazz/classical “Pianopoetry”, the trance-electronica of his ‘Whirld Music Trio’ project or the ease and flow of his ambient orchestral productions, It’s clear that Stephen not only has Tourettes but also (as he calls it) Multiple Genre Disorder! With 45 years, thousands of performances, 11 CDs, awards for music and film, multiple singles, many video productions, TV and radio.
