Come join us for “Wild Soul Revival” – a new project where four dynamic artists from different corners of the music scene—Ami Yares, Meghan Cary, Lia Menaker, and Peter Farrell—unite to blend Philly folk, soul, pop, and rock into one unique, powerful experience. Together, they transform each other’s original songs into fresh, soulful renditions never heard before. Expect soaring harmonies, rich rhythms, and an electric chemistry, for a collaboration that creates something truly greater than the sum of its parts.:
Ami Yares
Philadelphia-based Ami Yares brings forth his music from the shores of the Mediterranean and Atlantic. Not far off from deep hearted performers and songwriters like Richie Havens, Cat Stevens & Robbie Robertson, Yares’ songs of perseverance and hope ring out through his lyrics and music. “Yares wields his 12-string guitar as if it were an entire orchestra, backing his vocals with a dense, rich cascade of sound ” (David Foster, AXS).
Lia Menaker
With a voice that calls back to soulful greats like Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse, Lia Menaker’s music blends a more classic vocal with modern pop, R&B, and electronic stylings. It’s this juxtaposition that continues to fascinate and guide her writing and producing. Dubbed “noirtronica” by WXPN radio, her music has been featured over radio stations across the country as well as international films. She also wrote the original score for Welcome to Campfire’s stage play and film “Subject”. Lia has performed in 50+ cities around the U.S and has opened up for various artists such as 2x Grammy nominee Raul Midon.
“Lia Menaker’s voice is utterly spellbinding.” — Higher Plain Music
Meghan Cary
With masterful storytelling and anthemic songs, Meghan Cary creates a live music experience hailed as healing, inspiring and outrageously joyful. A frequent performer at Philly Folk, Falcon Ridge, Black Bear Americana, and other venerable fests, Cary’s smoky voice, emotional singing, and award-winning songs garner favorable comparisons to Melissa Etheridge, Brandi Carlile, and even Bruce Springsteen. Cary’s message around the power of raising our voices together infuses every show, and John Platt (WFUV) extols, “These times require songs of compassion and commitment, and Meghan has several she sings with such infectious joy you can’t resist joining in.” Cary has shared stages with Christine Lavin, Sloan Wainwright, supported Joan Osborne, Lucinda Williams, Lucy Kaplansky, Chris Smither, and Little Feat among others. Time Out Magazine advises: “If you can get to a Meghan Cary show, run, don’t walk!”
