Join us for an afternoon of music to benefit Germantown Community Radio 92.9FM, featuring northwest Philadelphia’s own Philly Gumbo, with additional special guests and all your favorite DJs and hosts from the station. Philly Gumbo has been creating its eclectic mix of musical genres for more than four decades, and the Fallser Club is delighted to bring the band’s blend of New Orleans R&B, reggae, blues, and Afrobeat to East Falls to benefit G-town Radio, the voice of northwest Philly! And there will be opportunities to learn how you can get involved with your community radio station!

About Germantown Community Radio

G-Town Radio is a community radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day. It can be heard on 92.9FM from noon Wednesday to midnight on Sunday and is streaming on the internet every day of the week. Located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, G-Town Radio is a community media outlet that uniquely engages the community, tells stories, shares music, and reliably communicates information to our community in NW Philly. Philly Gumbo

“Philly Gumbo’s distinctive blend of New Orleans R & B, blues, reggae and soul has made it a unique and popular presence on the Philadelphia music scene for thirty years. Over the years the band has been recognized by Philadelphia Magazine in their annual ‘Best Of Philadelphia’ issues and by The Philadelphia Music Foundation, as well as having played most of the top venues and major events in the area.”  – Soultracks magazine

“Philly Gumbo creates a personal pastiche of rhythm and blues, rock and reggae, that’s not just irresistible, but transcendent.”   –  Philadelphia City Paper

Love? said the Commander

Love? said the Commander is a duo from the ‘PhilaJersey’ area that embraces ‘maximal minimalism’ in order to create slow-burning emo-folk that’ll make ya feel stuff. Kate Hall met Chris Bishop in the winter of 2018 via a Craigslist ad. Since then, they’ve released six EPs and several singles and played hundreds of live performances throughout the Northeast. Their debut album, ‘Cast Away,’ was released on July 24, 2024 and the pair celebrated with an album release show at The Fallser Club on Friday, July 26.
